An environment piece inspired by the artwork of Minjeong Kim and my love for ancient Egypt as a child.

I started out by white-boxing the scene and getting the scale down before moving onto grey-boxing, building each object from largest to smallest as I went along. As each model came into focus, I planned out trim sheets from the concept art to minimize the video memory footprint and workload on myself. Some smaller assets were created within the means of these trim sheets, while larger assets were either developed specifically with these in mind or had their own unique textures where appropriate.
Along the way I had imagined the alter being set outside near large rocks, set against a desert with pyramids in the distance. The direction of the project changed as final models started coming together, and I ended up opting for an indoor scene that suited the look and feel much better.
